The Dean Foods Foundation focuses its work in four areas – childhood nutrition, youth leadership, dairy stewardship, and disaster relief.
Hunger in America continues to increase every year. Today, nearly16 million children in the U.S. live in food-insecure households. The Foundation is committed to supporting organizations whose mission is to support childhood nutrition. If a child’s basic nutritional needs are met every day, they will be better prepared in the classroom and beyond. With countless food and beverage choices, well-informed kids and parents can make good decisions to keep their bodies fueled and healthy.
"The support from Dean Foods Foundation is invaluable to the North Texas Food Bank. By stepping forward in your commitment to the community, your dollars are helping to fill tables and improve lives for hundreds of thousands of our neighbors. We cannot thank you enough!"
– Jan Pruitt, President and CEO, North Texas Food Bank
The Dean Foods Foundation supports programs that provide leadership and educational enrichment opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders. The Foundation recognizes the importance of preparing the future workforce with the tools and resources they need to be successful in and out of the classroom.
The Dean Foods Foundation believes that a healthy food supply depends on the well-being of our nation's farms and the stability of our agricultural system. Accordingly, the Foundation supports dairy farm communities by helping organizations that provide educational and development opportunities, with a specific focus on best practices in animal welfare and farm resource management.
When disaster strikes, the Dean Foods Foundation strives to respond to critical needs in appropriate ways. Support has included making immediate donations to American Red Cross in order to support affected communities.
